Successful products have been launched over the years because of our in-house R&D capabilities and technical arrangements with Sumitomo Chemical Japan. Our objective is to put customer needs first, focusing on developing and improving products that enhance value add to our customers.
Our laboratory has a wide range of state-of-the-art advanced analytical and testing equipment to facilitate comprehensive study of basic polymer design, formulation of additive recipes and end user evaluation. We are also equipped with processing machines for various film applications and injection molding, which can be used for optimization of processing parameters and trouble-shooting processing issues for customers. In addition to our own R&D activities, TPC is able to access and benefit from the latest R&D information and technical advancements in Sumitomo Chemical Japan through licensing agreements.

We work closely with Sales & Marketing teams to understand customer’s needs and our Production teams to incorporate manufacturing requirements into product design. Our aim is to rapidly translate new ideas into high performance, cost effective products
To support all the activities, R&D is powered with qualified staff for various levels. Researchers have suitable academic background and had gone through hands on experience for key processing and testing equipment. They have experience in working with our customers for new development and troubleshooting technical issues.
They are able to access related literature sources , attend seminars , conferences and trainings. From this way they acquire new knowledge and skills consistently.

COSMOTHENE L712
COSMOTHENE L712 is designed for high-speed processing and thinner coating, commonly used in applications including coating on substrates, such as PET, BOPP, paper, Al foil, and PE woven cloth.
Polymer structure of COSMOTHENE L712 is tailored to suit fast-paced film industry, offering higher melt strength, outstanding bonding strength and heat sealing properties, excellent neck-in and draw down performance, which are well recognized by extrusion coating film makers.
For technical service to customers, our Research and Development Section is equipped with a co-extrusion lamination machine and other facilities for evaluating processability and film properties.

COSMOPLENE FC9415G
COSMOPLENE FC9415G is designed for high-speed extrusion coating for PP woven bag, cloth/paper sandwich for chemical and cement bag.
As a polypropylene random copolymer, the polymer structure of FC9415G is tailored to meet good hot air sealing at lower temperature, offering outstanding bonding strength and heat sealing properties, excellent neck-in and drawdown performance, which are well recognized by extrusion coating film makers.
For technical service to customers, our Research and Development Section is equipped with a co-extrusion lamination machine and other facilities for evaluating processability and film properties.

COSMOPLENE FS3030
Polypropylene film is used as a dielectric in capacitors due to its high dielectric constant. The performance of this polypropylene film affects the ability of the capacitor to store and discharge electrical charge.
FS3030 is the latest development by TPC for high heat resistant capacitor. It has high crystallinity & low ash to meet the stringent requirement for this application. This grade is also suitable for fabricating into metalized film for capacitor.
Our R&D laboratory houses a table-top film stretching machine to produce stretched film for evaluation. We are also able to carry out scale-up evaluation using pilot tenter machine in Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd Japan.
TPC also has grades for general film & matte film in capacitor application.
